Ferrum Audio Hypsos is a hybrid power supply upgrade that combines the best features of both linear and switching power supplies to deliver efficient power. The Hypsos is designed to deliver the cleanest possible power supply allowing your equipment to perform at its very best.

Why the Hypsos?

Ferrum Hypsos uses a hybrid power system, a combination of linear and switching designs, to get the advantages from each technique, which is low-ripple and low-noise as well as a fast transient response and high efficiency. It offers a selection of unique features and even accounts for future software improvements.

Simple and Stylish

Housed in a minimalistic sleek black unit with hardly any hardware user controls, only a display screen and one knob; the device is mainly software controlled and is as impressive in its design as in its performance.

Compatibility

The Hypsos is compatible with a vast array of equipment, such as the Apple Remote, and by using pre-configured settings from the list of supported devices or setting parameters manually you can get your system up and running in no time. The HYPSOS is as universal a device as it gets.

Customisable sound

The Hypsos allows for full customisation of your sound. SST (Sweet Spot Tuning) allows you to fine-tune the output voltage for the best sound; it can even be adjusted on the fly to provide comparison testing. It also has a settings lock to prevent accidental changes of the parameters.

Hypsos Cables

Ferrum Audio Hypsos has a cable design called 4T Sensing Design (4TSD), which comprises of two wires delivering the power and two wires providing feedback to ensure a flat voltage at every moment. This technique eliminates the harmful effects of the cable's resistance, effectively improving transient response. The current delivery speed at the powered device's input is significantly improved.

Configuration Options

The Hypsos comes with two DC power cables, a 5.5 x 2.5mm and a 5.5 x 2.1mm DC cord, which connects to most commonly used DC inlets.

We at Ferrum listen to our customers and when some of them told us they would like to power more than one device with their HYPSOS, we immediately sat down and discussed this question with our engineers.

To make this possible our engineers designed the Ferrum Power Splitter (FPS). Now you can power two devices of your choice with just one HYPSOS. Just remember the correct output settings (voltage and polarity), this is key for a proper operation of all devices.

Together with the Ferrum Power Splitter a Ferrum Power Link DC cable (0.50 metre long) is included in the box which links the Power Splitter to the HYPSOS. 

The Power Link DC cable can be purchased in longer lengths in 0.50 metre increments.

Power consumption

When connecting more than one device to HYPSOS you should be aware of three things: the combined power consumption of the two devices, the operating voltage and the polarity (+/- orientation). Maximum power consumption should not exceed 80W and the current should not exceed 6A. And let’s assume you want to power an OOR with a second component of your choice, the second one should be compatible with OOR’s power supply configuration, being center positive polarity and 24 volt. When looking for the optimum value with Sweet Spot Tuning, be aware this is for both components combined.

Please Note: When using the the Ferrum Power Splitter together with a Ferrum MicroUSB, please bear in mind the correct voltage settings of the devices being 5 volt, with positive polarity.
