Introduction

The Ultra range were the first products ever designed by Stillpoints. Today the range encompasses a large range of equipment to suit a range of scenarios. Ultra products are often copied, but never bettered. 

Stillpoints Ultra can be placed under electronic components such as amplifiers and CD transports and also as feet on loudspeakers. You can also place an Ultra on top of a component and you will find that even this will improve the sound you hear, but the real benefits come when you float your entire system on Stillpoints.

Description

The Ultra 1E V2 is Stillpoints’ compact isolation footer designed specifically for audio electronics — DACs, preamps, CD transports, phono stages, and amplifiers.

At its core is a single technology pocket containing Stillpoints’ 4th generation ball stack: precision ceramic bearings arranged within a stainless steel housing to both isolate your component from external vibration and evacuate the micro-vibrations generated internally by transformers, capacitors, and circuits.

This two way filtering is what separates Stillpoints from conventional isolation. Most products only address vibrations in the audible frequency band (20Hz–20kHz), which can shift tonality. The Ultra 1 E operates above 20kHz — removing noise without altering your system’s tonal character.

What you’ll hear

The Ultra 1E V2 delivers a more natural, three dimensional presentation. Backgrounds become quieter, transients gain speed and definition, and the soundstage opens with improved depth and focus. The effect is subtractive rather than additive — removing the subtle haze that vibration introduces so the music emerges with greater clarity and presence.

Configuration

The Ultra 1E V2 features a durable black powder-coated finish with an exposed technology pocket on top and a 1/4-20 threaded hole in the base.

For maximum performance, pair with an Ultra 1 Base. This provides fine height adjustment for levelling and delivers a 20–25% improvement in isolation by separating the filter from the support surface. 

Although the Ultra 1E V2 can also be attached directly to equipment using Stillpoints adapters, the optimum way to use the Ultra 1 E is with the Ultra 1 Base placed directly in contact with the under side of the component. Start with three units and move them around to reach the most effective location. Once you have established where they make the best improvement, one can add a fourth or fifth to further the absorption of the micro vibration that creates the haze.
