Introducing Corepoint

A Corepoint unit is supplied with every Primer Core signal and power  cables and comes in two configurations – Corepoint Signal and Corepoint Power. A Corepoint Signal unit is supplied with analogue and digital cables and two Corepoint Signal units are supplied with the speaker cables. A Corepoint Power unit, tuned for high current applications, is supplied with the power cables.

Each Corepoint unit connects to the ERS wire on its Primer Core cable via spade connector and acts as a stable reference point for signal ground – the zero against which the signal is measured – between the source and destination components the cable connects to. Corepoint contains the specific configuration of materials that stabilises the reference point. No less important, though, is the physical geometry of the ERS wire and its construction alongside the conductors themselves. Together, Corepoint, the ERS wire and the conductors hold the signal coherent across the length of the cable – fast, stable, and faithful to its source.

What does Corepoint offer?

Put simply when used the noisfloor lowers so much you hear more music and less noise (grain, harhness) and music ebbs and flows clearly with easier to follow tonal changes. 

Upgrade over time

The nice thing about Corepoint is that you can easily upgrade over time as the clever people at Entreq have developed a new range of Max Posts which offer various materials to enhance Corepoint further. The Max Posts are Max TI, Max PA, Max PL, Max Supreme which you add to your Corepoint box as and when you wish to.

Rest assured the Corepoint system offers a substantial upgrade as standard the Max Post are not a requirement just an opportunity to enhance further or not.

Primer Core Digital Signal Cables are hand made in Sweden and built around Entreq's new Energy Reference System (ERS) and Corepoint technology. Designed to carry digital signal between your components with absolute coherence, every Primer Core Digital Signal Cable is supplied with a Corepoint Signal unit and is available in USB, RJ45 network, RCA and XLR terminations.

Cleaner digital data, better music

Primer Core Digital Signal Cables are the entry point to Entreq’s new cable architecture, succeeding their Primer Pro Digital Signal Cables. It is designed around the same principle as Delphius – that a signal is shaped as much by the electromagnetic environment around the cable as by the conductor itself – and brings that approach to a wider range of systems.

Digital signals are often assumed to be immune to the kind of degradation that affects analogue, but in practice the high frequency square waves that carry digital audio are just as sensitive to the electromagnetic environment around them. Timing precision, signal integrity and the noise that travels alongside the bitstream all directly shape what your DAC, streamer or processor receives at the other end.

At the core of Primer Core Digital is the Energy Reference System (ERS) – a separately shielded reference wire that works in concert with the Corepoint Signal unit supplied with every cable. Where a conventional drain wire carries induced noise away, ERS interacts with the electromagnetic field around the cable, with the Corepoint providing the stable reference point that allows it to do so. The result is digital signal delivered with much of the coherence and stability the format depends on – cleaner, more precise, and largely free of the high frequency noise that compromises detail and timing further down the chain.

Configurations

Primer Core Digital Signal cables is supplied with a Corepoint Signal unit and is available in four formats to suit every common digital connection in a high-end system:

Take your sound further with Max posts

Every Corepoint unit can be taken further with the addition of an Entreq Max post. The Max range – Max S, Max T, Max Ti, Max Pa, Max Pl and the range-topping Max Supreme – allows the performance of the cable to be extended further, incrementally, as your system and needs change.
