The N10/2-H50 offers exactly the same technology and hardware as the range topping N10/2-S38 but uses a traditional 5TB HDD drive. This not only offers a saving in cost but also gives the user more storage space. The HDD drive sits on the Melco HS-2 isolation platform to further enhance isolation.

Being a two-box design, the N10/2 benefits from a dedicated low-noise linear power supply, dividing the delicate signal-processing and data connectivity electronics from the power supply; separating the units allows total isolation from noise pollution, as well as isolating possible vibration from the power transformer for maximum sound quality.

In addition, the flagship N10/2 offers two types/sizes of storage capacity which are either 1 x 5TB HDD or 1 x 3/84TB SSD hard drives. Capacity is further expandable with either Melco’s E100 which requites no setting up or an external USB drive.  

Robust mechanical construction ensures isolation from harmful vibration. The dedicated isolating hard drive platform ensures the highest possible sound quality. An audiophile-grade linear power supply connects by Neutrik connectors to the isolated head unit, again to isolate vibration and noise.

The front panel USB port is convenient for connecting either USB drives or USB optical drive to import files or directly play.

The rear panel has two additional USB ports which allow for USB connected CD loader (such as Melco D100), or USB HDD for music import or play.  Additionally also Expansion of the internal capacity with either an IT USB HDD or the high sound quality Melco E100 expansion drive to increase capacity of the N10 without any additional settings.

Ethernet connectivity has had special attention paid to all Melco machines – there are two ethernet ports.  One is a dedicated Player port that connects directly to a network player or streamer without any intervening data switch or IT devices that would compromise sound quality.

The second Ethernet port is the LAN (connection to router) connection for access to the N10/2 for music transfer, control of the N10/2 local player from a control App, and for accessing streaming music services, activating direct music downloads, and making Firmware updates with just one click from the Internet.

Side by side, the two 215mm wide units, effectively a ‘head’ unit and a power unit, are equivalent to a conventional full-size audio component for easy system matching.

The N10/2 has been built from the ground-up as a dedicated audio-specific device, it uses no standard IT components or parts, cementing Melco’s status as class-leaders in networked audio performance.

The N10/2 benefits from Melco’s Intelligent Music Library suite comprising MinimServer and SongKong software. The device is also Roon Ready, DSD compatible and offers app control via DLNA/UPnP (in USB DAC mode) with support for TIDAL, Qobuz and vTuner streaming with the Melco Music HD app. Qobuz Downloader and HighResAudio.com also enable direct, error-free high-res downloads without the need for a computer.
