The Bison Twin Tower is the largest of Totem Acoustic`s is the largest loudspeaker in the Bison series of loudspeakers. The Bison Twin Tower combines two high-performance bass/midrange drive units that operate in the same frequency domain, allowing them to provide a lush, expansive midrange and the ever-important articulate, deep bass . Thanks to carefully selected components, custom drive unit development and evolved hard-wired crossovers, this tower loudspeaker manages to achieve symbiotic, synergistic and remarkably musical relationships between all of its interconnected parts.

Customized Drive Units

Every single drive unit is completely unique to Totem Acoustic and proprietary in design, engineered by Totem and then manufactured to the strictest standards to meet our parameters by the finest drive unit suppliers in the world. In some cases, where the technology is beyond the capabilities of suppliers or is wished to be kept secret, Totem Acoustic can and will build thier own driver units. Every drive unit exhibits phase linearity, speed, emotion, off axis natural presentation, and spatial articulation.

Handmade Crossovers

Totem Acoustic crossovers don’t require many parts because of the synergy between the customized drive units, but the components used within the crossover are  world class. Totem Acoustic crossovers aren’t built on PCB’s because the laminated conductive tracks can be weak and inconsistent.  Instead they are secured to a thin piece of fiberboard or insulated polymers and components are mechanically crimped together because it simply sounds better. When soldering is required WBT Silver Solder is used, the purest in the industry.

Artisan Cabinet Construction

Meticulously hand crafted for peak performance that lasts decades. Lock-Mitred assembly is an intricate woodworking procedure where edges physically interlock together. The resulting cabinet is up to 5 times stronger than conventional V Groove cabinets. Internal and external veneering resists warping, structurally fortifies, and ensures consistent peak performance. Industry unique Borosilicate damping manages dissipation, keeps the cabinet musically alive, and never deteriorates.  

Popular materials like poly fillers eventually decay, dramatically affecting the performance.  Variable Density Fiberboard is denser at the extremities than the interior to reduce repetitive nodes and resonances.

Binding Posts

Two sets of high conductivity gold plated connectors allow for traditional, bi-wire, or even bi-amplification options. They accommodate a variety of connection options such as bare wire, banana plugs, and spades.

Exclusive Delrin Decoupling Claw Feet

The success of Totem’s original acoustic decoupling Claw Feet on other towers made it appealing to include but the associated costs were prohibitive for the price point. A new version featuring a high-density Delrin machined composite achieved the cost target and succeeds in breaking up standing waves and controlling surface resonance, tightening bass, and heightening the soundstage.
