Totem Acoustic Signature One Standmount - Pair

Designed for Totem Acoustic`s 30th Anniversary

Don’t call it a comeback. The Totem Acoustic Signature One loudspeaker, designed for our 30th anniversary, is not a “comeback” of the famous Totem Acoustic Model 1 that launched Totem Acoustic. It is an elevated, advanced monitor loudspeaker reflecting the progression of our engineering prowess and is primed to knock you out.

The spirit of the Totem Acoustic Model 1 lives deep within it but the Totem Acoustic Signature One is quite unique and its superior performance defies comparison. An imposing 6.5" mineral infused woofer derived from the Totem Acoustic Forest driver is mated to a 1” Aluminium dome tweeter housed in a rear chamber. Designed simultaneously to achieve the best phase relationship, their synergy is perfected by a handmade crossover consisting of only a few precious components.

Totem Acoustic Signature One is an homage to our history, an anniversary celebration, and a retro yet timeless design that will outperform competitors throughout its multi-decade lifespan.

Customized Drivers – Bespoke Acoustic Engineering

Every single driver is completely unique to Totem and proprietary in design, engineered by Totem and then manufactured to the strictest standards to meet their parameters by the finest raw driver suppliers in the world. In some cases, where the technology is beyond the capabilities of suppliers or is wished to kept secret, Totem can and will build their own drivers. Every driver exhibits phase linearity, speed, emotion, off axis natural presentation, and spatial articulation.

Handmade Crossovers – With point to point Connections

Totem crossovers don’t require many parts because of the synergy between their customized drivers, but the components are the world’s best. Totem’s crossovers aren’t built on PCB’s because the laminated conductive tracks are weak and inconsistent.  Instead they are secured to a thin piece of fiberboard or insulated polymers and components are mechanically crimped together because it simply sounds better. When Totem must solder, they choose WBT Silver Solder, the purest in the industry.

Artisanal Cabinets – Master Craftsman Woodwork

Meticulously hand crafted for peak performance that lasts decades. Lock-Miter assembly is an intricate woodworking procedure where edges physically interlock together. The resulting cabinet is up to 5 times stronger than conventional V Groove cabinets. Internal and external veneering resists warping, structurally fortifies, and ensures consistent peak performance. Industry unique Borosilicate damping manages dissipation, keeps the cabinet musically alive, and never deteriorates.  Popular materials like poly fillers eventually decay, dramatically affecting the performance.  Variable Density Fiberboard is denser at the extremities than the interior to reduce repetitive nodes and resonances.

Connections – Gold Plated Bi-Wire/Bi-Amp

Two sets of high conductivity gold plated connectors efficiently capture the incoming signal for superior speaker performance and allow traditional, bi-wire, or even bi-amplification options. They accommodate a variety of connection options such as bare wire, banana plugs, and spades.

Setting Up:

The speakers require several hours of actual music playing time as a minimal break-in period. During this time, refrain from playing them at very loud levels. You will notice a definite gradual improvement in the cohesiveness of the music reproduction as this occurs.

It is only through the support of advocates such as yourself that true sound can be promoted...

Toe-in: Due to the fact that all Totem speakers have great off-axis dispersion, toe-in is generally not needed. Imaging will therefore be more stable from any point in the room. If the speakers are placed very far apart (over 7 feet) then a slight toe-in may be experimented with. However if room geometry does not permit a straight-ahead aspect they will also perform very well with a slight toe-in.
